Where are the Xmas markets?

You can think that one of the great and amazing things of living in the North is to have a White Christmas; so, Santa, Rudolph, lots of lights decorating everything and of course, Xmas markets.

Well... this 2014 I have not see that much around here. There used to be a Xmas market if we can say so in Sergels Torg, like the center of the Center. Not this year. Only a few places are opened in the street level, but nothing on the Plattan level.

This goes the same for Kungsan. On the first Advent I barely saw a little Xmas market. The real and big enough Xmas market was opened on the 2nd Advent. Why?????
At the moment I have not been there at Gamla Stan, where the other Xmas market is, but I fear is gonna be so little and be disappointed, well anyway there are always the same little shops there.

I do really miss the German Xmas markets. Lots of lights and decorations, big and well organized, great food and beverage options and well... huge Xmas spirit. Do I have to say more?

So, at the moment: no snow, no Santa (because if he is not having Xmas markets, why bother to come), no Rudolph, duh, and not too much lights.

Hope you are having greater Xmas markets at you city, dear reader :)

Stand-up show

Say whaaaat? Is already July 2nd and there is no trace of new posts here!!! Alert!

I like to watch stand-up comedy shows but lately I have not being curious about it. Few days ago I saw the stand-u show of Özz Nûjen, oh gosh, how funny is he! But not only that, he goes directly to those taboo topics, the one that 'we' are not supposed to talk about. Uohhh do not talk about religion, politics, rasism, och så vidare...

I knew of his existence when I saw the movie 10000 timmar. Soooooo freaking funny for the Swedish style, I loved his character there and now as I met him (stand-up comedian) I love him more.

This show is up to date and he has the perspective of an immigrant in Sweden, he even kinda analyses the word in swedish 'invandrare'.  Tyvärr the show is in Swedish, but it seems available around the planet Earth. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Hurry up, it will only be available until Dec 21st. 2014.

Semla

Semla & M. Wazowski
Do you remember three years ago?

Me neither. But thanks to my blog I remember I posted something about semla. You can read it here -->  One of those posts where I came back to blog and well it is 2014 and the time has come.

Once I read that the best semlor in town where the ones at Gunarssons Konditori and this year Arla has a page where one can vote for the best semlor Stans Bästa Semla and yes... I will keep my eye open to that semla.

Meanwhile I got you a pic of this year. Let's see what comes for the next year.

Btw, the March 4th is the day, so I will get to eat more of those. Maybe. I dunno.Omnomnomnom!! There are many fikas to watch out!

Isn't she cuuuuuute?

Seems she likes the new IKEA chairs. And is waiting for some treats...

I will write more about her in other posts. You just need to know that she was my first close contact with a cat.  Miauuuuu!

City of sights

Stockholm, den 27 juli 2013

It was a great day, a promenade in the city,
good company, awesome weather and bright sunny sun!

We end up here, eating a cherry pie (home made, not by me)
with the proper vanilj sås! We enjoyed the hugs and the laughs.
Summer is coming, maybe sooner than we thought. I hope we can have
more days like these, with so good friends, so good pie and so good treasured memories.

Tack, Stockholm!

Toys, are us?

When you hear/read the word toy, which one does come up first in your mind?

I would say a cash register, 'cause that one was my fav toy evaaaaaa'. But, what about the toy that first seem to be awkward, useless or kind of tacky? Well, some weeks ago I was at a store called DesignTorget (designtorget.se) and I saw these cutie little toys of... piss and poop!

 OHMAIGAD  HOWCANTHISBE?  HEAVENS!!  QUEALGUIENPIENSEENLOSNIÑOS

and so on... I though it was an oddity, like... who would buy these kinda toys? What for?!?!?!?!

Well, the thing is that I do no have children yet, buuuut maybe there are people out there who use these kind of toys to teach the kids that kind of stuff. When I give a second thought about it, it sounds more hygienic to use these fluffy cuties instead of real stuff xD it just costs 275SEK, yeah, just det!

Kiss&Bajs = Piss&Poop = 1&2

Then, another day I was in IKEA (yeah, because it's Sweden and... why not?) and I saw the cutie little thing called the wolf and the grandma from Little Red Cap (or Caperucita Roja, para la banda). Yepp, the wolf has space to keep the grandma in the belly because... YOLO and... why not?

Aaaaany way,  we are in 2014 and who know what and how the new kids are learning things about life and the way of telling stories of Charles Perrault.

Grandma partially in (or out) of the wolf's belly.

Capullo de cobijas

There was a time when one could feel a winter of -15ºC, dress up onlion style (lots of layers) and aweful boots. Just like that, people went outdoors.

Nowadays we have a bright sunny day (cold, yeah but not freezing) and it is February (spring is blessing us since now!) and well, those time when one should be in a cocoon of blankets is passed. Done. And the worst is that I did not do my snowman! Daaaaarn!

The only hope is that as crazy this weather has been, maybe we get some snow, one week, few days. Something. Meanwhile, no more capullo de cobijas.

--------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE: Few days ago we had snow. Yeiiiiii! It was a nice white surprise, but unfortunately it was fragile, no snowman at all. I took evidence of the nice landscape (smartie me!)

UPDATE 2: The now is gone and we got a bright sunny and blue sky. So, is spring here?

Christmas times

Now is February but let me tell you a little story about las X-mas.

I was in a mall just wondering around and saw a store with all these things to do your own decorations. Inside me there was this eagerness to do something but in the other side I was anxious about it. So, I saw a cute heart and in my mind I thought about to put some 'snow' and inside a cute little dude, very Christmasy.

X-mas anxiety representation
All went OK, I googled some styles to paint and when it came to the point of deciding which face will it have I got more anxious. Will it be cute? Will it be the grinch? At the end it was ananxious dude, kinda South Park (and it was definetively not my intention).

Let's see if it sees the light next Christmas.

It is face time!

Long distance relationships are challenging.

Time passed and people come in and out of our lives. We move, they move and we fight the distance, the longing and we keep doing it until the next time we meet again, face to face. Where we can touch each other.

but in the mean time, I like to introduce you to Tesla, a cute dog owned by my friend Em ( I dunno if she wants her indentity to be public or not). It is so awesome to still be part of the life of your friends and well, I cannot wait to hug and play with Tesla :-)
